Since the day that Jack turned 5 months old (June 1), his little personality has become even more apparent. Jack LOVES to play with his toys, pose for the camera, chat (yell – usually in a public place), and definitely *loves* to eat yams and baby cookies.
Jack can also go from 0 to 60 in no time flat when it comes to bed time. Seconds before I began filming this video the Jack Attack was all smiles and eating a Mum-Mum. To this I say – Shut it down.
Wow – second TLC reality show reference in a row! While we (the baby, obviously) are a far cry from prancing around on a stage with false eye lashes, Jack has been chosen as a finalist in a Cute Kid Contest.
To vote for him, please visit the link below and vote...simple as that.
Now, being the extremely competitive spirit that I am, I would also appreciate if you could forward this link to anyone else that you think would vote for my crazy, adorable baby.
Thank you, thank you, thank you – and be sure to vote from every computer that you have....this is becoming shameless...maybe false eye lashes and glitter actually are in our future.
“It may be a crazy life, but it’s our life” – Kate Gosselin
First of all, I cannot believe that I just quoted Kate Gosselin. Second of all, no other statement could have been truer on Sunday.
Often on Sunday evenings, the Blatz family will gather for dinner. When Chris and I started dating this was a very different experience; only one person would speak at a time (enforced by Steve-o), all of us “kids” would do the dishes each with our own zone (washing, drying, flatware, glassware, random bowls that end up on the kitchen table because no one can quite remember where they go...), and we would all gather after and have dessert or another cocktail.
OH MY HAVE TIMES CHANGED!
Five years, three weddings, five kids later, and a dramatically bigger dining room table - there are no longer eight at the table, there are 12 (plus grandma and Jack who is usually in someone’s arms), and approximately nine conversations going on at once (and yes that does mean that more than one person is just talking to them self). While the new additions and loud dinners have only made things more fun, this Sunday that just past was quite the crazy experience!
Now let’s play the matching game, simply match the situation with the Baby.
·Grabs Knife
·Wonders off
·Shockingly stays out of all trouble
·Teething mess (this one might be easy)
·Falls asleep
·Tyler – 3 ½ years old
·Leif – 2 years old
·Kamryn – almost 2 years old
·Matias – 1 year old
·Jack – 4 ½ months old
POOR Matias. The baby, with the extensive reach, grabbed the knife and cut three of his fingers. He was such a good guy, letting his mummy squeeze his fingers.
Oh Kamryn! Once we had all recovered from the trauma of the Matias incident we sat down for dinner...only to notice that Kamy was nowhere to be seen. Every one leaped from their seats and there was about a 60 second period of time when the world stopped...finally Carly and I stumbled across the little drama queen (wearing a diaper and pink bows in her hair), standing in the wagon, in the middle of the back yard...phew!
Tyler was a very good boy on Sunday. He played ball with his uncles (while Leif twirled on the grass), and was very polite.
Jack was the obvious choice for teething...although on a positive note, Auntie Sarrah did spot a white spec on his gums!
And finally Leif – clearly exhausted from his evening fell asleep on the couch.
I think that there are a few lessons that we, as a family, have learned from our Sunday night debacle:
·Use plastic knives
·Perform spontaneous head counts (often...these kids move FAST)
·Open an extra bottle of wine
·And ALWAYS have a camera with in arms reach (this is clearly a lesson for me)
“It may be a crazy life, but it’s our life, and I wouldn’t change it for the world” – Kate Gosselin + Tamara Blatz
Jack loves hockey. He has been a fan since he was born. If there is a game on the TV there is no talking, smiling, or blinking. He is just as serious about the sport as his dad...
Many of you may not know this, but Jack is actually French Canadian; which really means that his moods and emotions can be interpreted (by mum) in English with a French accent. Jack was deemed a French Canadian Bebe from the moment we learned that he was a little boy; from his Auntie Hailey calling him guy (pronounced gee), to his little cousin Leif pointing at my belly saying “Jacque, bebe”.
Jack is very passionate about his love for Celine Dion, fine wine, and crepes. He wakes up every morning and says “Hallo, Bonjour”.
So...the next time that you see Jack Jacque Bebe be sure to say "salut, oooh la la" and give him two kisses, one on each cheek of course.
*Disclaimer*
While Jack does also understand when mum replies back to him with a French accent, be sure to be aware of your surroundings. If you are not careful, you may end up in a doctor’s office being asked if you would prefer to have the appointment en français....not that that actually happened...more than twice.
Jack and bear have been friends from day one. We saw bear a few weeks before Jack was born and just knew that they were going to be buddies. Here are a few pictures of the budding friendship.
Google Definition:Two children born to the same mother in the same calendar year or within twelve months of each other.
Chris and Mara Definition: oops!
That is right folks; defying logic and most biological science, Chris and I will be welcoming another baby into our family at the beginning of November. While this is a huge surprise and we were not expecting two babies in 2010, we are very excited! And one more thing – Happy April Fool’s Day!
